Job Summary
Plans, directs and controls the efforts of the Maintenance Department to maintain recycle processing plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good engineering practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
·Responsible for maintaining all MRF operating equipment in safe and satisfactory working condition. Administers and manages the preventive maintenance program in accordance with company guidelines.
·Develops, maintains, directs, and coaches a team of technicians qualified in maintaining all equipment and facilities in safe and efficient working condition.
·Consults with other departments regarding desirable modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment, which will improve operations and reduce maintenance costs.
·Responsible for safety and compliance of the maintenance group. Ensures department employees are properly trained, informed and adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
·Develops objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department. Required to meet departmental, divisional and corporate goals and objectives.
·Performs evaluations on departmental employees, including coaching, counseling, and corrective actions where necessary.
·Coordinates and schedules work to be performed in the most efficient, productive and cost effective manner, with minimum interference to daily operations.
·Advises on improvement plans and strategies, analyzes cost studies of proposals for new facilities and equipment in the department designed to secure reduced operating costs. Makes recommendations thereon to the Plant Manager.
·Plans and provides for an adequate supply and ensures control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, and seven to ten years previous experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
